The Artist That Inspires and Captivates

There has never been a time in Diamond Liyah’s life when she cannot remember singing or dancing. This love for music fueled her passion to become a recording artiste. Born Aaliyah Williams, the fast-rising artiste hails from Harbour View, a community in the eastern part of Jamaica. She discovered her love for music at a very young age and decided early in life that music was her true calling. Life, of course, was not always easy, but like a diamond that endures extreme conditions to shine, so has this burgeoning star.

At the age of 16, Diamond Liyah had her first introduction to music through her cousin, Sky Blu. She recorded her first unofficial song, "It Nuh Easy," under the name DJ Alli. That experience ignited her passion for music, and she knew it was her destiny. She later adopted the moniker Diamond Liyah, and the rest is history.

After tirelessly perfecting her craft, Diamond Liyah took a hiatus but has returned stronger than ever. She rebranded herself and released her first single after five years, "Blue Tick," released in May 2022 - the track has garnered steady rotation in Jamaica and other countries worldwide. She followed up with a hardcore dancehall track titled “Streets Set a Way,” produced by the renowned Notnice, after winning a freestyle competition on his Cool Reminder Riddim. Shortly after, she released another viral freestyle, a tribute titled “Dem a Tell Me Seh Yuh Gone,” dedicated to a former team member and family friend. This track, produced by Above Grung Productions, has performed exceptionally well on streaming platforms.

Diamond Liyah’s genre-fluid music blends traditional Jamaican Dancehall and Reggae rhythms with writing and vocal arrangements that showcase her jazzy, pop, and edgy side. Her music reflects depth of character, and she prides herself on creating songs that resonate with the soul, are relatable, purposeful, and sonically pleasing. Her latest release, “Tears Inna Mi Eyes,” is a testament to her artistry.
